Keynote Speakers
Alison B. Duncan
Dr. Alison Duncan is a CNRS researcher at the University of Montpellier. Her main interest focuses on how environmental fluctuations influence epidemiology and evolution and the consequences of co-infection for parasite transmission.
Dr. Alison will be a Keynote speaker at EMPSEB XXV in the thematic of Host-Parasite Interactions.
Andrés López-Sepulcre
Dr. Andrés López-Sepulcre is a CNRS at the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Sciences in Paris and a visiting researcher at the University of Jyväskylä, in Finland. He studies several facets of eco-evolutionary theory and is particularly interested in integrating theoretical and ecological data.
Dr. Andrés will be a Keynote Speaker at EMPSEB XXV in the thematic of Theoretical Evolution.
Josefa González
Dr. Josefa González is a CSIC Scientist at Institute of Evolutionary Biology in Barcelona. She studies how organisms adapt to their environments by focusing on the importance of adaptive mutations and of transposable elements activity.
Dr. Josefa will be a Keynote Speaker at EMPSEB XXV in the thematic of Ecology and Evolution.
Liam Dolan
Dr. Liam Dolan is the Sherardian Professor of Botany at the University of Oxford, UK. His research group aims to understand the genetic mechanism that controlled the development of roots in the common ancestor of land plants. The group’s research involves a combination of genetics and palaeontology. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2014.
Dr. Liam will be a Keynote Speaker at EMPSEB XXV in the thematic of Plant Evolution.
Maurijn van der Zee
Dr. Maurijn van der Zee is an Assistant Professor at the Leiden University.
His research focuses on the genetic and developmental basis for evolutionary changes, with emphasis on the evolution and function of the insect serosa and the impact this innovation might have had on insect expansion and evolution.
Dr. Maurijn will attend EMPSEB XXV as Keynote Speaker in the thematic of Evo-Devo.

Tom van Dooren
Dr. Tom van Dooren is a CR1 researcher for CNRS at the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Sciences in Paris and a research associate at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden. He is mostly interested in comparative analysis of evolutionary dynamics models and in the long-term advantage of random behaviors.
Dr. Tom will be a Keynote speaker at EMPSEB XXV in the thematic of Ecology and Evolution.
